21 + 28 September 2008 – 2nd Gen Suzuki Hayabusa long term review – Part 11

21 September 2008

This update is all about the 2nd Generation Suzuki Hayabusa’s fuel consumption. I am getting 7-8 litres per 100 kms! for normal and relatively easy riding. This is not very good because I was getting sub 6 litres on the original version. Why? Maybe because its cold and the choke is being activated or perhaps it’s still being run in. I hope that can report better for future updates.

There is another issue I have with the new Hayabusa, and that is the lack of a centre stand. Sure not many motorcycles these days have one but I had one on my 1999 Hayabusa and I loved it. (As much as one can ‘love’ a centre stand anyhow) So I went shopping a bought a new race stand.

I had problems with lifting the bike on the new race stand but eventually worked it out. Much like lifting any motorcycle on the centre stand really – there is a technique.
