Update 04/06/2000 : More track day stuff. Following the expected coffee discussion it was quite clear that I don’t know anything about the track best lines to take. If I had worked out the best gears to use it would have help and using the torque curve and not using the rev limiter as a gear change indicator would so help.
Yep the 600cc sports class is indeed great for track work. It’ll reward a novice track rider far more than the Hayabusa. For a rider to be able to use the Hayabusa to its potentional on the track does require a rider with skill and literally no fear purely because you can go so much faster so quickly. On the road the Hayabusa still unbeatable.
Whilst on the track I remember thinking how civilized the controls looked on the Hayabusa, I had a clock and fuel consumption meter telling me stuff which I didn’t really need. It’s basically a car dashboard transplanted to a motorcycle. It was a weird thing to think about.
The Azaros rear have taken the punishment quite well. The tyre construction is definitely much harder than the BTs. Now that Darwin in experiencing the dry season I’ve noticed that they don’t grip quite as well. Normal acceleration is fine but push them and they easily break traction. Or maybe the engine is running and there’s more power ? Thus I don’t think they’re cold weather tyres – only time will tell.
BTW : Temperatures during the day now hover around 27 degrees centigrade whilst at night it’s a chilling 14-15. Humidity is a shocking 20-25% all the time. I’m used to 32 degrees and at least 60% humidity.
