Sachs MadAss 125cc Review

Welcome to the Sachs MadAss 125 preview. Although I’ve been aware of this manufacturer for many years they may be a new brand to you, since it is financially strapped and does minimal advertising. Regardless I saw one parked in front of the building and immediately decided to post this review after checking it out at the the shops.

The European designed Sachs MadAss 125 is an interesting model name and motorcycle. The least street cred description is to described it as a bicycle with an engine or even a scooter but personally I would just call it a cool motorcycle because that’s what it is.

This Sachs is designed for those who want to look good while on the move or parked and don’t have to travel too far to get there hence its tiny fuel tank that’s part of the frame. As in pictures and in real life the MadAss 125 looks good and sounds great when paired with an after market exhaust system. It’s got chunky tyres for kerb and inner city pot hole travel and the look to keep all but the most obnoxious drivers (aka Audi and Subaru drivers) aware. Clearly designed for dry weather transport and early evening travel this bike will please the owner. It is not a sports bike or speed machine more a zippy cafe racer so expect decent acceleration, a top speed of 80kph  (optimistic)  or even 90kph down a hill? Hence the talking point will not be power but how good it looks and hoot to ride.

Overall the MadAss 125 is a design statement and very cool one at that. The MadAss 125 is still being sold new and the retail price is around $2990 on the road and is competitive with small scooters. However the Sach’s rarity and style will make it a talking point and garner more street cred than any motorcycle or scooter in the same price range.
