Foundation Galactic Frontier – T2 Combat Craft – Beggar

Welcome to the continuing video game review of Foundation : Galactic Frontier. (May 2026) In this part I’m reviewing the: T2 Combat Craft – Beggar. This craft is uses Kinetic weapons but the next tier in the class compared to the entry level  T1 – Maia.

The Combat Crafts are the ‘fighter spacecraft’ that you can build on your flagship, the Gram, Dermezel and Opportunity. There is a Flagship hangar facility that you can develop them and where they are stored. The Combat Craft mechanic is heavily built into the overall game play and it is important that you build and upgrade them. Note that while they add to your overall power stat these are disposable in battle so you need to keep building and repairing them.

The T2 Kinetic Combat Craft – Beggar is the first of the Tier 2 class of combat craft in the Kinetic range. It offers quite an upgrade to the Tier 1 ships as you can see in the base specifications below. There isn’t a story to this particular ship, that I could read in game.

In terms of design the Beggar is a very basic shape with the standout feature of a pod or nacelle. The design can also be seen on the TV series as a shuttle craft used by some key characters in the story namely Hari Sheldon. However the TV design is both reversed and upside down compared to the version in the Foundation game.

The T2 Combat Craft specifications are effected by the the level of your Flag ship, Research centre (tech tree) and the level of your guild and many more! Needles to say T2 is better than the T1 and as aways firepower and durability are dependent on your own level, flagship level and tech tree status. The key feature is that it belongs to the Kinetic class hence uses hard and projectile based weapons and ammunition.  The only real in game advise is that Kinetic weapons are  not as good as Ion based weapons. However Kinetic weapons are very effective against Beam classed space craft.

The Foundation game (review) has revealed its self to have similarities in terms of in game artifacts and designs from the TV series. However due to the differences, perhaps the game graphics where designed before the CGI in the TV show where finalised? Regardless the in game tech is graphically varied which is a nice touch.
