Foundation Galactic Frontier – T2 Combat Craft – Garrison

Welcome to the continuing video game review of Foundation : Galactic Frontier. (June 2026) In this part I’m reviewing the: T2 Combat Craft – Garrison. This craft is uses Ion weapons but the next tier in the class compared to the T1 – Double Edged Sword.  I do enjoy the in game vehicle tech elements so these write ups keep me engaged. 

The Combat Crafts are the ‘fighter spacecraft’ that you can build on your flagship, the Gram, Dermezel and Opportunity. There is a Flagship hangar facility that you can develop them and where they are stored. The Combat Craft mechanic is heavily built into the overall game play and it is important that you build and upgrade them. Note that while they add to your overall power stat these are disposable in battle so you need to keep building and repairing them. 

The T2 Combat Craft – Garrison is the first of the Tier 2 class of combat craft in the Ion type class. It offers quite an upgrade to the Tier 1 ships as you can see in the base specifications below. Like the others there isn’t a story to this particular ship that I could read in game.  

In terms of design the Garrison is quite different from the Tier 1 version, but it does resemble a Tie Fighter or droid fighter from Star Wars. Unfortunately this design doesn’t do much for me and clearly a place holder for the next tier of combat craft. 

As always, I like to add the following – as you may not have read my other posts on these type of ships in the game: The T2 Combat Craft specifications are effected by the the level of your Flag ship, Research centre (tech tree) and the level of your guild and many more! The key feature is that it belongs to the Ion class hence uses Ion based weapons and ammunition.

So I’m I still enjoying the game? – yes why else would I be writing this. Mind you these reviews are dated compared to my current level in the game due to the evitable time. I’m at the stage where I need to finish the core ‘Strikeback’ Story line to unlock the tech tree proper.
