Foundation Galactic Frontier – T4 Combat Craft – Army Ant GI

Welcome to the continuing video game review of Foundation : Galactic Frontier. (August 2026) In this part I’m reviewing the: T4 Combat Craft – Army Ant GI. This craft is uses Kinetic weapons but the next tier in the class compared to the preceding  T1 – Maia  , T2 – Beggar and T3 – Flagellant 56. 

The Combat Crafts are the ‘fighter spacecraft’ that you can build on your flagship, the Gram, Dermezel, Opportunity and Gungnir. There is a hangar facility in the Flagship that you can develop them and where they are stored. The Combat Craft mechanic is heavily built into the overall game play and it is important that you build and upgrade them. Note that while they add to your overall power stat these are disposable in battle so you need to keep building and repairing them. 

The T4 Army Ant GI is the first of the Tier 4 class of combat craft in the Kinetic range. It offers quite an upgrade to the lower tier ships as you can see in the base specifications below. Unfortunately there isn’t a story to this particular ship, that I could read in game.  However as you can tell the name is derived from the insect with similar name and purpose except in space.  

In terms of design the T4 Army Ant GI is another interesting design choice. It does look a little like the head of a regular ant but from the top down profile it also looks a little like an angel fish. I like the design as it looks like a regular space ship with plenty of detail and interesting lines not bound by gravity. That said the Army Ant GI does remind me of the model used in the D grade movie called the ‘The Last Scout’.

The T4 Combat Craft specifications are effected by the the level of your Flag ship, Research centre (tech tree) and the level of your guild and many more! Needles to say T4 or Tier 4 is better than the T1 – T3 and as aways firepower and durability are dependent on your own level, flagship level and tech tree status. The key feature is that it belongs to the Kinetic class hence uses hard and projectile based weapons and ammunition. The Kinetic weapons and ships are better than Ion classed ships but not great against the Beam class of ships. It is also important to note that the weapon class or style of Flagship can be changed by changing the core Control Cube. 

The Foundation Galactic Frontier game review: It is definitely cookie cutter in terms of getting daily tasks done for some free  resources. The freebies are OK but you really have to do the other gold/yellow missions to get the best ones. That said although random, they do come up often.
