Honda ADV 150
Honda ADV 150

Welcome to my first post for 2021! The Honda ADV150 was a surprise new model which I found out about during the new years break and definitely worth a look if you want something more than just a commuter motorcycle or scooter. The ADV150 is a ‘off road’ capable scooter.

In terms of looks the Honda ADV150 is a dual purposes or high rise version of the PCX150 and smaller although visually similar 745cc Honda X-ADV. It’s a good looking motorbike that straddles traditional motorcycle classes. Since it is based on the PCX, the ADV150 is LAMs or learners friendly that doesn’t look like a ‘first motorcycle’.

In terms of engines and technology the ADV150 is a PCX150 with off road or adventure motorcycle styling and suspension. It’s the SUV of scooters? Tech highlights include ASB brakes, Showa branded suspension and adventure motorbike instruments.

I honestly like what the Honda ADV150 represents. It’s a motorcycle or scooter that can appeal to city or urban riders and adventurers. It bends the stereotypical view of what a scooter is and whether you really need a typical dual purpose or trail motorbike. The ADV150 is also more accessible in terms of price and availability compared to the X-ADV – the only other class bending motorbike I can think off. I wonder if any other manufacturer will follow this design. That said since I can’t buy a X-ADV I may have to settle for a ADV150.
