Honda Navi

There seems to be a bit of a down turn in truly new and interesting motorcycles lately. One of the reasons why I chose this time to revamp the website at this time!  Fortunately we now have the new Honda NAVI to admire and lust over. The Navi has been available in it’s home market of India since 2016 but has now officially reached North American market in 2022.  

The Honda Navi joins the Honda mini-bike range along side the Honda Grom and the Honda Monkey. This nugget of a mini bike is even smaller than the other two but is not a replacement. I think the Navi’s design is 80’s Anime retro inspired as the best description. It’s a personal thing ultimately…

Technically the Honda Navi is scooter is based, specially the Honda Activa but this is in a traditional motorcycle format rather than scooter. The Navi does not have any modern tech by 2022 standards but it is clearly a durable and highly customisable setup as the baseline tech dates back prior 1999. Clearly it’s a marketing exercise for the rest of the world as bits and pieces model but does it really matter as it looks this cute?  Apart from the 80’s inspired sci-fi cute looks the Honda Navi only features a 15 litre hard case built under the frame and tank to hide what would otherwise be a design shortfall. 

The decision to buy the Honda Navi is probably because you can’t wait for the next batch of Honda GROM, Honda Monkey or even the Kawasaki alternative. Alternately, priced around $1809 it is $500 cheaper than the competition. The Navi is a fun bike and alternate Scooter alternative that traditional performance and tech based purchasing decisions cannot be applied.
