2014 Hybrid cars

Since there hasn’t been much motorcycle news this week so rummaging through emails I found this week’s press release from KBB.com or Kelley Blue Book (again) this time announcing their favorite hybrid cars under $30,000 (February 2014).  Of course you are free to disagree with their choices because they are based on their own writers decisions which is no different than your own!

You can argue that making these high tech cars consume more toxic materials, but in reality the only thing that departs from the current standard is in the form of batteries, since every other component is already being used in existing motor vehicles. However the most important thing to remember is that technology is constantly improving to not only reduce cost but creating a demand for an energy source or storage system that is more efficient and consumes less toxic materials. Where there is a demand there will be solution eventually. We’ve has seen it before remember – just look up the history of batteries!

Anyway back to the KBB list:

 1 Toyota Prius
2 Honda Accord Hybrid
3 Toyota Camry
4 Toyota Prius V
5 Ford Fusion
6 Acura ILX
7 Ford C-Max Hybrid
8 Toyota Prius C
9 Volkswagen Jetta
10 Subaru XV Crosstrek

Here’s the US pricing/financing list for some of the cars on the list check out KBB.com for more details :

News from Honda – July 2013

Sometimes there are ads that just get your attention and it doesn’t contain any sort of block buster movie style action sequences. This Honda video doesn’t sell any particular product just the brand. The only thing missing seems to be their F1 (Formula 1) involvement from the 1980’s which is a pity.

Aside from the new ad (for US dwellers and visitors to my site) there’s the 2013 Honda sponsored Maroon 5 tour in which they are giving away a custom Honda Civic Si and the Honda CBR250R. Check out their main website for the dates and competition details although I think its been a sell out.

“The goal of the custom Civic and motocycle was to capture the Maroon 5 iconography that expresses both the band’s essence and live experience and channel it into a custom design,” said frontman Adam Levine.

Personally I think the design on the Honda Civic particular is very good. Well that’s enough Honda stuff for the next few weeks!
