Suzuki Trojan DR200E

Suzuki Trojan DR200
Suzuki Trojan

Welcome to the Suzuki Trojan or DR200SEL5 specifications and showroom review for 2020. The Trojan is based on the DR200 which has been around for decades. Unfortunately in Suzuki Trojan spec it is specifically a farm motorcycle and is not road legal. That said should require too many mods to make it capable of being registered for the road.

As motorcycle the DR200 is a classic, after all it has survived for decades as a popular trail or dual purpose motorcycle and now as a farm focused as the Trojan, so it has to be a decent model. The Trojan is priced $4690 AUD which is a decent price I guess for a motorcycle that will last a long time. There is the road legal version in the form of the DR200S selling at $5990 ride away which has a more sporty enduro/super moto style panels and tank design but still with the same engine – presumably tuned up?

In terms of technical specifications the Suzuki Trojan features a clutch lock, dual side stands, electric and kick starter, protective bar work and oversized mud flaps. The engine dates back 20 years so assured of durability and parts. It’s not a powerful engine and still carbureted rather than EFI hence easily tuneable for more performance. However untouched the engine is more an under stressed slugger for low speed commuting on unsealed roads and other terrain in a off road or farm setting.

As a result the Suzuki Trojan is 2nd most popular and best selling farm motorbike in Australia 2019 selling 448 units. This sales number is down from 526 in 2018.
