Update of 20/10/2002

The journey home II. Well its been done. A sad week in some respects and exciting in others. My Hayabusa has been sold. My lifestyle for the moment precludes me from owning a bike. If I had the finances to purchase and maintain both bike and car I would but I currently don’t hence there needs to be a sacrifice. I’ve managed to justify keeping it for a year extra but there comes a time. I wish it was for a new bike but…

One thing that I will always promote is that using motorcycle as transport is by far the easiest to use. Of course that comes conditional. You don’t have more than one passanger and you don’t have to carry too much luggage. A bike in heavy traffic such as in Sydney or Melbourne is so much easier to get around on once you’ve mastered the art of traffic dodging. I was finally getting used to it. It takes much less time to get to a place not because of speed but the ease of moving through traffic and parking is so much easier and cheaper. Ever tried finding a free park for more than 1/2 hour on Manly beach ? Well there’s a dedicated motorcycle park opposite the beach and infront of the mall. What more could you ask for ? So why did I sell it ? Simple – I have to relocate over 4000km by road each way at least twice a year! In all honestly a Goldwing would almost suit but at close to $40,000 AUS its kinda of expensive and looses the size benefits. There are of course other issues too of why the car was the choice but that can be discussed later. Of course once I do manage to settle in one place again the bike will likewise join the garage. More detail on the replacement next week.

So to the new owner of my lovely ex-Hayabusa – enjoy. It’s in mint condition nothing wrong with it what so ever. As I always said the bike is a good one.

The website will of course continue, its has taken up so much of my time over the years that I would never give it up.

Update 2012: Of course as you know – I now have a 2nd generation Suzuki Hayabusa and loving it once again!
