Welcome to the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R specifications and showroom review for 2022.

It has been a while since we have been given a new 250cc 4 cylinder motorcycle. I’m sure someone will correct me but has been 25 years?

I had always assumed that Honda would be the manufacturer to make a new one but no! it’s Kawasaki and due to other world events aka pandemic of 2020/2021 which I will footnote and the introduction of LAMS regulations – the 250cc class in Australia has been on the extinction list, not endangered. That said the 250cc class is still very much alive in most of Asia for a variety of reasons.

The new ZX25R Ninja is equipped with up to date technology like EFI and alloys which means it produces plenty of power for a 250cc engine and it’s more reliable and consistent in terms of power output. There are quite a few parts and design choices that show this bike means sports. Mind you most are simply generic Kawasaki parts but at least they look good. The fancy rear swing arm, tucked in mufflers and USD front forks and with sound that can equal a F1 racer – this is a pretty cool 250cc. The sound track of the 1980’s and 1990’s…

Is the Kawasaki ZX25R Ninja worth buying? The simple answer is Yes!  However you won’t be able to buy in Australia. This is due to many factors, including the lack of consistent demand and that people prefer more unique or modded and cafe racer style motorcycles for road use. There is also the price factor as motorcycles here often cost as much as a decent used car or a new car.
