2019 Vespa GTS 300

Vespa GTS 300 Super Sport

I’ve posted the specifications and story on the Vespa GTS 300 Super Sports a couple years ago because I think it is a great scooter as it’s a brand with street cred, looks, performance and price. Although it may be expensive by any measure, priced at around the $10000 AUD mark I feel it’s worth it due to it’s street cred and relatively few hit the 2nd hand market. Due to a spec bump and that I’m posting the ‘Best selling motorcycles in Australia for 2019’ series this is the update!

Regardless of brand, a scooter packed with an 300cc engine with the same sort of power as any other 300cc ‘proper motorcycle’ engine in an on trend ‘retro’ and ‘cute’ package is going to be popular. I argue that in the Vespa’s targeted operating environment of commuting in city and suburban traffic this is the best you can get.

In fact it’s the 3rd best selling scooter in 2019 selling 368 units. This sales number is down from 398 in 2018. I think that many GTS 300 Super Sports sales are purchased by private buyers as equally as businesses for promotional purposes.
