This page will contain the latest news and opinions from Yamaha Motorcycles.  I've got a bit of Yamaha news and information over the years so I decided to create this news page for all things Yamaha!  The focus is on Yamaha model releases not corporate news.

2010

Yamaha have just announced the new XT1200Z Super Tenere.  The newest Super Tenere is clearly a 1200cc - quite high tech twin cylinder engine targeted at the those wanting a BMW 1200GS but can't justify the price, brand image or what ever other reason.  The key and telling feature being a shaft drive.  The engine produces about 82Kw or 110hp at 7250RPM and 114Nm of torque at 6000RPM. Other features include odd sized tyres, ABS, adjustable seats and traction control. 

The 2010 YZF-R6 gets the obligatory new colour schemes and new air box plumbing and exhaust system and ECU for low and mid-range.  The most noticeable change is the more odd looking exhaust. Should make the R6 less revvy to ride in traffic.  Be thankful its 2010 because in the old days before EFI you used to have to ride around the flat spots for any 600cc bike.  One final thing - don't get me wrong I like new designs but this is a tad too normal?  Judge for your self.

The 2010 FZ1 Fazer new ECU again for more low and mid-range power and refreshed colours. Nice looking bike but not as nice as some of the competition from Kawasaki and Ducati for example.

The 2010 XJ6S Diversion new ECU for mid range and revised fairing and refreshed colours.  It has always been my view that the Diversion series has always looked a little different from the rest but with a fairing the new design makes it more common - you be the judge.
