2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR KRT Edition
Welcome to the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR KRT Edition specifications review for 2023. Due for release in late 2023 as a 2024 model the ZX-4RR KRT is the claimed sportier version of the regular ZX-4R. The ZX-4R and variants are not LAMS compatible.
In terms of looks the Kawasaki Ninja ZX4-RR KRT is a very mild visual update on the regular model. In fact it is just decals and colour scheme with no actual physical modifications. Nonetheless it arguably looks sportier.
In terms of design the ZX-4RR KRT has a contemporary design but one that doesn’t really stand out from any other model released in the last 20 years.
It is the technical specifications that ZX-4RR KRT is more advanced than its looks suggests however it is mostly carry over from the regular ZX-4R and that’s pretty decent for a being lower down on the Kawasaki model ladder. Inclusions include a small capacity 4 cylinder engine, EFI, a real ram air scoop, claimed suspension angles and geometry as per the 1000cc sports bike class, Showa upside down forks at the front and high end Showa dampers at the rear, quick sifter, traction control with 3 power modes and a comprehensive digital instrument panel. The instrument panel has a track mode, trip computer and standard smartphone connectivity.
Unfortunately the ZX-4R not all traditional sports bike, with no real performance improvement, a steel frame and rear swing arm. However it is coated in a thin layer of black paint that distract the passing glance.
Is the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR KRT worth buying? The simple answer is Yes! due to the limited number of high revving small capacity 4 cylinder motorcycles. It does go against the current trend of the naked retro styled motorcycle and making as many models in the LAMS category. However in the end the Kawasaki ZX-4R and the KRT variant, sales success will be dependent on pricing and street cred. Which admittedly Kawasaki is trying to do with the KRT branding.
