Update of 9/06/2002 A few interesting things this week. The various levels of Government in this country can be very silly. They can be liken to car manufacturers. Say Honda – I like Honda cars infact I had several top spec new ones until recently. Mine where built very well, and with VTEC they certainly went very well and handled top of the class. Then something happened. They started making very silly decisions. The Accord at least in Australia was considered a ‘prestige’ car. Now the current model not only lacks the build quality of its predessors but the drives worse and looks just like the others. Consequently its dropped of the prestige list into the abyss.

Then the Civic. What have they done. It used to be the most desirable car in its class. Sure technically its at the top but look at it now. Looks and price in this segment are everything. Look at the hatch – its a VAN ask any young person. Do they want a VAN no. The sedan – apart from less build quality than before it looks like and older design than the superceded model. And its price, way too much for VAN. Why do you think they’re not exactly flying out the showroom.

The 2002 Integra Type R ? Sure its still a fantastic car but its not a real Type R is it. You can’t just change the badging and hope people won’t notice. It’s akin to driving a BMW 330 and changing the badging to M3.

Last of all I leave you with my stupid comment of the week – IKEA is very busy place.
