2017 Suzuki DL250 V-Strom

Suzuki DL-250 V-Strom

Welcome to the new Suzuki DL-250 V-Strom a new adventure styled motorcycle introduced during 2017. Since the entry level, commuter or entry level ‘sports’ motorcycle class is pretty crowded a new type of motorcycle is always welcome.

The DL250 V-Strom is an interesting name to start off with. It’s name suggests that it is a smaller version of the regular V-Strom 1000cc but it’s not. The DL250 is based on the equally new GSX250R hence much older GW250 Inzuma. Yes, enev the engine which is not even close to a V-Twin. The only thing that is related to the real V-Strom is the styling since it does look very much alike.

The new DL-250 V-Strom features aN all digital dash, fixed mounting points for luggage or panniers, DC power socket or cigarette lighter socket and ABS brakes but little ease. The engine is very normal, likewise the frame are all from or modified from the GW250. It’s hard to be enthusiastic about it from a specification point of view since I think the DL250 is just about styling, that’s saying the obvious really.

Overall the DL-250 V-Strom is decent small capacity motorcycle. I can tell it’s going to be comfortable and certainly very useful for longer distance rides and anything you want to use it for really just don’t expect it to be fast. I can imagine motorcycle couriers buying the DL250 due to hard luggage points and riding position however price is going to be the determining factor on it’s success. Spec below are from the GSX250R until I get proper details, don’t expect too many changes!
