2023 Favourite motorcycles – Benelli TNT 125
The Benelli TNT 125 is on the list of my favourite 2023/2024 motorcycles for a number of simple reasons. In fact all the 125cc motorcycles should be on the list. Needless to say I think you get the point why I’m writing about this particular model. However first to recap – the automotive industry tends to release models late in the year as the next year’s model so some models on my 2023 list will only be available some time this year – 2024.
The Benelli TNT 125 is a direct competitor to the still popular Honda GROM, Honda Monkey or Kawasaki Z125. These are mini motorcycles that can be registered for road use. This size may work with smaller riders and commutes in heavy or slow traffic but I think these are too under powered for highways and should remain the suburbs or inner city streets.
Benelli as a brand has faded over the years, having a number of different owners and now by a Chinese company. They haven’t done much in the last few years by looking at the model range…
In terms of looks, construction and design the TNT 125 is nicely proportioned as it’s other competitors. However it has some Benelli design clues like the dual exhaust pipes which are unnecessary but they made an effort to make it look like a traditional Benelli which scores points. Speaking of looks the TNT 125 is still cute as.
In terms of engine and tech the TNT 125 has carry over engine and parts from other Chinese brands – which is an educated guess and based on looking at any number of 125cc clones. At a guess but also by comparing the engine design it based on the timeless Honda CG125 powerplant. The TNT125 does have EFI and air cooled engine which is great for low maintenance .
So why would you buy the Benelli TBT 125? First of all it is 125cc mini bike that is built for fun and attention. Secondly there are an unlimited number of parts and mods with this engine to keep it running. Third reason is that it costs under $4500 – on the road.
